WASHINGTON: The Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir said Friday at the Saudi embassy in Washington that Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman's discussions with the US administration included combating terrorism.
He also said that Saudi Arabia has signed several agreements in various sectors to increase US-Saudi cooperation.
Commenting on Qatar, Al-Jubeir said that Saudi Arabia wishes that the Qataris would return to their senses and correct their mistakes.
On Trump’s appointment of John Bolton as national security advisor, Al-Jubeir said that he is a decisive man and his position on Iran is reasonable.
Al-Jubeir also commented by saying that Saudi Arabia does not need anyone to defend it and that statement’s made by the Iranian Foreign Minister are usually strange. He also said that Iran must leave Yemen and respect international rules. If Iran wants to have a role in the region, it must have good relations with its neighbors, he said.
Crown Prince Mohammed is due to travel to Seattle on Friday and to Boston on Saturday as part of his tour of the USA.
The crown prince met with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday at the White House where they hailed the historic link between the two nations as well as investment deals worth billions of dollars struck by the two nations as Saudi Arabia embarks on Saudi Vision 2030, a massive set of programs aimed at reforming the country.
