Favourites Written By and Sunlight look set to dominate the Golden Slipper with flying filly Estijaab from the front, but the X-factors of the $3.5 million juvenile feature could be Performer and Aylmerton.
Vince Accardi, of Daily Sectionals, is convinced the Silver Slipper is the benchmark race for the Golden Slipper.
Sunlight got the better of Estijaab in that race, and their early speed along with that of the unbeaten colt Written By should set up the Golden Slipper.

It is always hard to lead and win a Golden Slipper, but Accardi’s time analysis suggests that leaders have the stamina to hold off the swoopers this year, and he is not concerned about the wide draw for Estijaab.
“There are plenty of horses that have early speed in the race, but the thing with Sunlight and Estijaab was they were able to sustain it in the Sliver Slipper and run the best figures of the season,” Accardi said. “It makes them very hard to run down, particularly if they can control the early burn in the race to about five lengths above IVR standard.
