Opportunist thieves used a digger in a late night ram raid at a McDonald’s.
Police found the abandoned vehicle outside the fast food giant’s branch at the Castletroy Shopping Centre in Ireland.

The area around the outlet, in Limerick, was cordoned off and the digger was moved.
But police said that despite the break-in, which happened at about 2.50am on Tuesday, nothing was stolen.
It is believed the men inside the vehicle tried to get to the store’s safe, but were not successful, the Irish Examiner reported.
The restaurant was left significantly damaged by the JCB digger.
The McDonald’s is likely to be closed for some time while repairs take place.
