In the disturbing video, the woman is knocked to the floor as the 24-year-old hits her and pulls her hair.
Vasquez, an outfielder, was spared a jail sentence for the crime and the case against him was dismissed, District Attorney Mark Gonzalez told KRIS-TV.
The Venezuelan national has been released by his current team, the Lancaster Barnstormers of Pennsylvania, since the footage emerged.
Vasquez was a player for the Corpus Christi Hooks at the time of the incident, which happened in August 2016.
The team is affiliated with the Houston Astros, the winners of last year’s World Series, but Vasquez was never selected to play for the Astros.
He was released by the Astros and suspended indefinitely by Major League Baseball when he was arrested.
Mr Gonzalez said charges against the player were dismissed after he completed the terms of a plea deal.
This included taking classes and paying a fine, the size of which is not known.

In a statement, Lancaster Barnstormers manager Ross Peeples said: ‘There is no choice but to sever the relationship.
‘Neither I, nor the Barnstormers’ organisation as a whole, can condone or associate with that behaviour.’
