The perks of being a high schooler

We, as teenagers, are generally expected to either be perfect in every way, or to have our lives in complete messes.

I am here to tell you that normally we’re a combination of both.

It appears to everyone else that I’m always perfectly organised, and on the inside I’m just trying to remember what English homework I had.

Currently I am writing this column at 9:30 at night, after I’ve finished work because I literally have no other time to do it.

I sometimes can only either do my homework now, or at 6am in the morning before school.

Pretty soon, winter sport will start back up, and then there will be netball to attempt to juggle also.

See, what I didn’t tell you above is that I’m a year 12 student who somehow tries to find some sort of balance between my school, social, home and work lives. And now a sport?!

Some days I will have to go from school, straight to training, and then to work. And not to mention the late night that will follow from my catching up with my family and then the workload I have to do at home.

All I’m saying is that it would be nice to catch a break.

Life balance is to somehow maintain social, work, school, sport and home lives (at least in my case) and to still be calm and collected.
