Ed Sheeran beats Drake and Taylor Swift to become biggest selling artist of 2017

The year just keeps getting better for Ed Sheeran.

After he released his latest album, Divide, stunned the music world once again, he went and got engaged.

The kid’s got the work/life balance mastered, it appeared.

Now, Ed has been crowned best-selling global recording artist of 2017 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.

Drake followed behind, after taking the top spot in 2016’s list, with Taylor Swift coming in third after releasing her album Reputation.

Sure we know Ed killed 2017, but the proof is in the pudding: Divide was certified platinum in 36 markets, and its boppiest tune Shape of You was the international best-selling single that was deemed multiplatinum in 32 markets.
