Late Bollywood actress Sridevi Kapoor was found unconscious in the bathtub by her husband before her death.

The 54-year-old superstar was confirmed dead on Saturday evening from what has now been confirmed as a heart attack but reports reveal how Sredevi, who was in Dubai for her nephew’s wedding, was discovered in the tub her husband, film producer Boney Kapoor.

It has been claimed that Kapoor, who had left Dubai for Mumbai but returned for dinner on Saturday evening, woke Sridevi up around 5.30 pm and the couple chatted for around 15 minutes before Sridevi went to the bathroom to prepare for the evening ahead.

When she didn’t come out for some time, Kapoor knocked and then forced open the door to see the actor ‘lying motionless in a bathtub full of water’, according to the Khaleej Times.

‘He tried to revive her and when he could not, he called a friend of his. After that, he informed the police at 9pm,’ the report says, quoting a source.

Born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Sridevi was one of Bollywood’s super stars, appearing in over 100 movies spanning six remarkable decades, which have seen the actress pick up a number of awards for her performances.

She made a name for herself in the 1987 adventure film, Mr India, which became the highest grossing Indian film that year and is now widely regarded as a cult classic.

In 1996 Sridevi married Kapoor; she is survived by her husband and two daughters – Janhvi and Khushi.
