Catwoman’s writer John Rogers has admitted to feeling ashamed over the DC film, and claims to have not even watched it from start to finish.

He was one of the credited writers in the infamous 2004 Halle Berry flick, but has now come out and slammed the movie.

Author Denise C McAllister provoked the confession when she took to Twitter to agree with Michelle Obama when she openly spoke about Black Panther.

McAllister’s tweet read: ‘It’s about time black kids have a superhero that reflects who they are. Why didn’t we hear this when Halle Berry as Catwoman was released years ago.’

However, Rogers gave a very good reason as to why a ‘Black Panther revolution’ didn’t happen over Catwoman, by calling the film ‘sh*t’.

As one of the credited writers of CATWOMAN, I believe I have the authority to say: because it was a shit movie dumped by the studio at the end of a style cycle, and had zero cultural relevance either in front of or behind the camera.

This is a bad take. Feel shame. https://t.co/6sth7w38Xx

In a tweet he wrote: ‘As one of the credited writers of CATWOMAN, I believe I have the authority to say: because it was a sh*t movie dumped by the studio at the end of a style cycle, and had zero cultural relevance either in front of or behind the camera. This is a bad take. Feel shame.’

Before adding: ‘Also full disclosure: I’ve never watched the movie all the way through in one sitting. I skipped premiere night to shoot @jenni_baird audition footage for GLOBAL FREQUENCY.

‘And they’d fired me anyway for, y’know, snark.’

Rogers wasn’t the only person who thought the film was bad, as Catwoman was nominated for seven categories in the Golden Raspberry Awards, a satirical version of the Golden Globes which acknowledges the worst movies in Hollywood.

Out of the seven categories it was entered in, the movie won Worst Picture,Worst Actress, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay.

More: Halle Berry

It also slumped in figures as the $100million (£71million) bugeted film managed to gross only $82million (£59million).

Compared to Black Panther predicting to bring in $75.8million (£54million) on its release night alone, Catwoman certainly looks like a small pussycat of a flick.
