A survivor of the Florida school massacre begged Donald Trump to ban the sale of assault weapons, saying: ‘I don’t understand why I can walk into a store and buy a weapon of war.’

Samuel Zeif made the emotional plea during a questioning and listening session at the White House Wednesday, saying: ‘I lost a best friend…practically a brother.

‘Don’t waste it.’

Among suggestions tabled to Trump were background checks and banning bump stocks, which he has proposed.

Others called for a sale on military-type assault rifles, or even to secretly arm school staff members so they can contain a shooting until emergency responders arrived.

Gunman Nikolas Cruz, 19, killed 14 students and three school workers at the school in Parkland, Florida with an AR-15 assault rifle.

Broward County Sheriff’s office say he has admitted the killing, and he has since been charged with 17 counts of pre-meditated murder.
