Sophia Webster’s LFW Presentation Will Remind You of Your Fave Ballroom Dance Show

If you love competitive performance shows like Dancing With the Stars or Strictly Come Dancing, you'll adore Sophia Webster's London Fashion Week presentation. The designer chose the historic Hotel Cafe Royal's Pompadour Ballroom in the UK capital to display her Autumn Winter 2018 collection and the venue was filled with plenty of sequins, feathers and many pops of color.

This season she's nodding to her past as a competitive ballroom dancer and took inspiration from Baz Luhrmann's 1992 movie, Strictly Ballroom, for the added glamour. With it only announced this month that the film was to debut as a music on London's West End stage, it was certainly a fitting theme.

Latin dancers performed underneath a Coca-Cola billboard just like in the motion picture and the collection even features two shoes and a clutch bag with the crystallized red Coca-Cola logo.

"The collection and show theme this season is very close to my heart as I grew up with competitive dancing," Sophia said. "Dance costumes have to be made in striking color combinations, sequins and crystals to attract the attention of judges, and I loved bringing all this to life in AW18. There is endless inspiration to create a bold and spirited collection, which is at the same time sexy, feminine and wearable."

True to theme, guests at the show (including Olivia Palermo and Nicola Roberts) got to see crystal encrusted items displayed in trophy cabinets, while models donned bright hues as they stood on a winner's podium or sat atop a disco ball.
