Aidan Maguire hasn’t made many friends since arriving in EastEnders and the stage could be being set for a classic Walford murder storyline as he continues to make enemies and threats. Since being introduced to the show, Aidan has turned the lives of several residents upside down – but is he playing a dangerous game and could he be about to meet his match?
Aidan reckons that he is the alpha male around these parts but he isn’t getting any younger and there are only so many hard men he can take down with that stick of his. While his menacing ways have so far left the likes of Phil Mitchell, Vincent Hubbard and Mick Carter quaking in their boots, is he about to push his luck too far?
If these men were to team up and take him down, we wouldn’t fancy Aidan’s chances. EastEnders is renowned for building up a dastardly villains vicious actions ahead of a huge comeuppance scene – think Archie Mitchell and Den Watts who were particularly ruthless in order to push residents to murder.
And of course, there’s the daddy of all revenge storylines – penned by current boss John Yorke – that was Who Shot Phil? Could a similar punishment be on the way for Aidan that will see Patrick Bergin’s character bow out in bloody fashion and leave at least one Walfordian with a guilty secret?
Aidan has been turning his attentions between everyone involved in the heist regarding the missing money and no-one seems safe. As the Carters were facing huge pressure and Mick was even taken hostage, Vincent is trying to scrape together cash to pay off Aidan.
And even Aidan’s mate from prison Phil could soon have had enough. If Aidan were to learn that Sharon had the money, he would want his own back – and Phil would do anything to protect his wife. Perhaps even Sharon herself could be forced to defend herself against the monstrous mobster.
And they aren’t the only ones that Aidan has crossed – Keanu, Bernadette, Mel, Ciara and Billy could all also have scores to settle not to mention other outsiders such as Kim, Linda and Shirley who may have had enough of the gruff, bearded baddie blighting their families’ lives.
Aidan might be cock of the walk now – but in Walford, justice has a habit of being served in the most dramatic way possible. And fans reckon that Aidan’s days could be numbered in one way or another.
