This year over 300 people braced the 40 degree heat to take part in the annual Bogan River Carp Muster.

This year was a big success with a total of 305 registered entrants who caught 300 carp weighing in at a total of 221 kilograms.

The biggest catch for the 10 and under girl category was Ellie Apps catching a fish of 43 cm.

Louis Young won the biggest catch for the 10 and under boy category with a fish of 49 cm.

The biggest catch for the 11 and under 17 years girl category went to Nattie Elsey and Hope Kehoe-Fernando with a catch of 32 cm.

Isac Drady was the biggest catch in the 11 and under 17 years boy category catching a fish of a whopping 67 cm.

Rachel Burns was the winner of the open female category with a fish of 50 cm, and Ben Brown won the open male category catching a carp of 60 cm.

Team that had the most carp was the Monagee Road Crew featuring Mason Rope, Cooper Black, Archie Black and Will Black catching 17 carp.

The biggest carp caught was 67cm caught by Isac Drady.

The best dressed individual on the day was Simon Bartley, also known on the day as the ‘Short Shaft Mercury Motor’.

The best dressed team were The Mario Bros featuring Gabby Elias, Mitch Thornbury and Dan Plunkett.

Randell Robb caught the tagged fish 230 sponsored by Deacon & Co Nyngan.

The $50 bounty on all Yellow tagged Carp will remain until Easter Monday, 2018. From Easter Monday until the 2019 Carp Muster there will be a $20 bounty in place.
