Musicians are known to suffer for their art but Cardi B had a pretty scary moment while filming the music video for her breakout hit, Bodak Yellow.

The video, which has racked up over 456,491,100 views on YouTube to date, sees the rapper being a boss in scenes shot in both Dubai and New York.

Some particular scenes shot in Dubai featured real life cheetahs and one of them became aggressive during the shoot.

The video’s director Picture Perfect opened up about the moment in an interview with Genuis.

He explained: ‘We actually got this cheetah from Sultan out there.I didn’t know how hard it was gonna be to get a cheetah out there.

‘We shot this other scene that we didn’t use, and he attacked Cardi in that scene.’

In the raw footage, the rapper can be seen standing a few feet away from the cheetah and rapping her verse while she holds him on a leash.

The cheetah suddenly turns its head and hisses at her and Cardi immediately tries to get some distance between herself and the exotic cat.

She’s heard saying: ‘No no no, come hold him!’

Picture Perfect then revealed they managed to get Cardi’s ‘spirits back up’ and filmed another scene with a different cheetah.

He continued: ‘We wanted to actually get a shot of a cheetah in the passenger seat but no one would agree to let us do that.

‘This cheetah right here, he’s eaten about six pounds of deer meat at this time, and he’s just calm.

‘I said to her, “People will want to see you pet this cat.” And we went for it. I was nervous.’

Cardi was probably really glad she didn’t really end up with bloody shoes on that day.
