Neighbours spoilers: Natalie Bassingthwaite on Izzy’s explosive return and her steamy sex scene
There is SO MUCH to prepare ourselves for in Izzy’s return.
Absolutely nothing good can come of the homewrecker’s return, and it’s set to be an uncomfortable time for poor old Susan as she worries about her marriage. But what is Izzy actually back for? She definitely has some secrets in tow, and we nabbed a few minutes with actress Natalie Bassingthwaite to find out what they are.
Firstly, ready yourselves, Neighbours will shortly be airing a steamy sex scene. Yes, the show that can’t even say the word sex, or drugs, and replaces the expression ‘you f**king idiot’ with ‘cake taker’ is airing a super naughty bedroom scene, starring none other than frisky Izzy Hoyland.
BUT WHO IS IT WITH? IS IT KARL? Oh lordy lord we hope not.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Natalie revealed: ‘For the bedroom scene, I can’t give too much away but it gets a little hot and steamy! It’s Neighbours so they don’t go overboard but I can’t say anymore!’

She added: ‘Whenever Izzy arrives, she likes to stir the pot and it always causes a lot of friction between Karl and Susan and their relationship. Especially because they share their daughter Holly together.
‘Most people in the street were not pleased to see her! It wasn’t a warm welcome!’
Please god don’t let her cheat with Karl. Not sure his face can take another one of Susan’s slaps.
So Izzy is definitely bringing trouble with her.
‘Izzy always comes back,’ Natalie said. ‘There’s always drama when she comes back – I can’t give away too much but there’s always a big adventure. She’s definitely caught up in something, and will be revealed quite quickly after she arrives.’
But, be reassured Susan, she’s not hanging around forever.
‘I have finished filming, it’s definitely not just one episode but it is just a guest role. I can’t give away too much,’ she revealed. Natalie hinted that her return will cause ‘a few jaws to drop’ and that this time she ‘pushes the boundaries even further.’
She went on to confess that she’s been nervous about making her return as Izzy, but as she remained close friends with Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburn (Karl and Susan) they helped her get back into the role after a decade away.

‘They are such incredible actors. I have always looked up to them – in what they have achieved and with their work ethic and spontaneity,’ she said. ‘They are still so inspired every day they come into work and they still inspire me after so long.
‘I was a little bit of nervous at first. I haven’t known Izzy for 10 years, so I had to get back into her way of thinking and find her again. On the first day, something came out of my mouth in character and me and Jackie just looked at each other and thought there she is, she’s back!’
Izzy makes her return Monday 12 February in the special late night episode, and naturally she’s back with a bang – literally in this case as Susan hits her with a car!
