Star Wars fans were given a treat last night when the teaser of SOLO: A Star Wars Story aired during the Super Bowl.

But Disney pulled no punches at all just a few hours later when they released another action-packed teaser for the stand-alone Han Solo film.

Contrasting starkly against Sunday night’s teaser, the one minute and 25 second tease is packed to the brim with action.

Confirming that Ron Howard has committed to the character’s non-cannon beginnings, Han is heard talking about his time at the Imperial academy.

‘I’ve been running scams on the street since I was 10,’ Han can be heard saying as he pilots a Podcar through streets. ‘I was kicked out of the flight academy for having a mind of my own. I’m going to be a pilot, the best in the galaxy.’

It also introduces the cast of characters that will help shed light on Han’s past, including Woody Harrelson’s Tobias Beckett – who’s seen offering Han and Chewie a job.

Likewise, Emilia Clarke’s Qi’Ra is also pushed a bit further into the spotlight as she reveals she and Han go way back.

More: Star Wars

Just like Rogue One, there aren’t any lightsabers and Jedi’s to save the day or use the force. So, instead we’re treated to a taste of the full-throttle action that we can expect from a film based solely on the man who made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

But that’s not all, the trailer also confirms the film will be anything but a slow ride, as it features everything from Podcar racing through to a full-on dash through the tentacles of a monster as the Millennium Falcon boosts away from TIE fighters.

SOLO will hit cinemas on May 25.
