It was one of the biggest feuds fans have seen on My Kitchen Rules, the clash between Jess and Emma and rivals Roula and Rachael.

And now an insider has claimed that the fight was so big that sisters Jess and Emma wanted to leave the show.

The teams have also spoken out about the controversial incident, with Roula admitting she had taken things too far when she called the girls 'fat and fake.'

'Jess and Emma really did want to leave the show,' a source told Woman's Day this week.

It's been claimed that the sisters 'demanded' to stay in a different hotel to their rivals while filming because the clash was that intense.

'They felt the network did nothing about the conflict and continually put them in the same vicinity during filming.'

'Jess was texting me saying she was desperate to leave the show,' the source added.

Meanwhile, Roula told New Idea that she didn't mean to be so insulting to the girls on Sunday's episode, where Rachael stormed off during the heated clash.

'In the heat of the moment, you say things that you don't mean.'

'I had that much fire in my belly, I was that emotional that I was getting attacked by Jess and Emma that I couldn't even eat.'

She added that on the night, she had an 'emotional breakdown.'

'I was so tired, I had an emotional breakdown that night.'

On the show on Sunday, Rachael stormed off set and burst into tears after Emma called her a 'cow.'

The argument began when Rachael began discussing the packet noodles used in Kim and Suong's main dish during their Instant Restaurant.

Emma called out Rachael for going on and on about the packet noodles, saying: 'God, you don't stop!'

'I just want to swat it,' Emma later said of her rival.

But Emma didn't stop there, telling Rachael's partner Roula, 'I can't deal with your teammate.'

She also remarked how she couldn't stand the sound of Rachael's voice.

In response, Rachael said she can't stand looking at Emma's face.

'You're just snapping like a little cow,' Emma replied, prompted Rachael to leave.

Emma said: 'That's the nicest word I could come up with on the spot. There is annoying and then there is you.'

Roula then comforted her friend, telling Rachael: 'For some reason, they have it in for us, as we're younger, taller, prettier and they're plastic as f**k!'
