Not much gets past EastEnders fans and now viewers reckon they have solved the mystery of who has the missing money from the heist ahead of tonight’s big reveal. And it appears that the main theories all rule out the prime suspects Mick Carter, Vincent Hubbard, Phil Mitchell, Mel Owen and Aidan Maguire.

As those closely involved all throw blame at one another, there are other residents of Walford who have slipped under the radar on screen. Off screen it is a different matter entirely as eagle eyed viewers reckon they have the culprits bang to rights.

Top of the list is sheepish Bernadette Taylor, who was aware of the heist all along and was warned by the men to keep quiet – or else.

Worried about Keanu’s involvement, could she have found a way to nab the money? She has had a bit more disposable income of late and is hanging around the allotments a lot – meaning that she has the prime place to bury it out of sight.

And remember when the money was replaced with newspapers in Ben Mitchell’s suitcase? Well, Bernadette was working a paper round at the time…

I think bernadette has the cash, she's been splashing a few notes around lately……. Maybe at the allotment! #EastEnders

Others reckon that Sharon’s fear around the police becoming involved and her insistence to Linda that Mick had nothing to fear from Aidan make her prime suspect. Boss John Yorke has promised a big story for Sharon and also wants the power of women to dominate the show.

Sharon also knew of Ben’s anger towards Phil for being left out of the scam so could have used that as a lead to work out that he had the money…

Before these two theories came about, viewers were keen on Jay as their top suspect. He was close enough to Ben to figure out what he was up to and has always felt an outsider of the Mitchell family.

Could his anger at Phil for lying about his late dad have driven Jay to hit back?

Fans won’t have long to wait as the reveal takes place in tonight’s episode – so let’s see if one of these theories is indeed correct…

EastEnders reveals the outcome on Friday 2nd February at 8pm on BBC One.
