Eden Mansion is a grand and imposing Victorian mansion dating from 1860. The house was built by the Haig family who also owned a distillery in the nearby village of Guardbridge as well as most of the surrounding farmland.

Magnificent Eden Mansion

The Haig family are renowned as Scotland’s oldest whisky distillers, their most notable family member being the 1st Earl Haig. Eden Mansion is an historic and exceptional country house, commanding a prime location, built for luxurious living and entertaining in a grand style.

The three storey house is built of stone under a slate roof with the main accommodation laid out over the ground and first floors. The house is equally appealing on every side arranged as it is around a central inner courtyard. The west façade of the house is dominated by a square, battlemented tower above the front door.

The roof line is enhanced by gables above all the main windows with large bay windows to the main reception rooms with balconies above on the south and west elevations.

The present owners have carried out a major refurbishment programme over the last four years and have renovated the property to a very high specification to create the stunning country house and gardens that can be seen today. They have fully renovated the house both inside and out whilst preserving and enhancing its period charm with tasteful modern comforts which blend seamlessly to create a lavish yet authentic Scottish home.

The house now offers extensive but manageable accommodation with a very practical layout, well suited to family life, yet able to accommodate an extensive guest list.

The public rooms are all well-proportioned and retain many original features such as decorative cornices, picture rails, working window shutters, wooden floors and period fireplaces. The windows are large, ensuring the interior is full of natural light. All eight bedrooms boast en suite bathrooms and offer spacious accommodation for family and guests alike.
