Porn star Stormy Daniels has said that she has been 'threatened' since news of her alleged affair with President Donald Trump broke two weeks ago.

In an interview with Inside Edition, Daniels said that she has received serious enough threats over the last few weeks that she has felt the need to hire security guards to protect her.

She said that up until the scandal broke, she had 'a strangely normal life' in her Texas town where she lives with her husband and their seven-year-old daughter.

'Then I wake up one morning and there's news trucks and reporters outside of my house. Now suddenly I'm having to make phone calls to hire security,' Daniels said.

Although she didn't elaborate on the nature of the threats, she stated that she has 'been threatened' and has, in fact, hired personal security guards.

On January 12, the Wall Street Journal reported that, days prior to the 2016 election, Daniels had been paid $130,000 and signed a non-disclosure agreement to keep mum about an alleged sexual affair she had with President Trump in the months after Melania Trump gave birth to Trump's youngest son, Barron.

Although Trump's lawyers have denied both the affair and the hush money payment, the alleged affair was seemingly confirmed by an unpublished interview Daniels is said to have given to In Touch Weekly in 2011, which was then unearthed and run on January 17.

Daniels told Inside Edition that since word of the alleged affair hit the news, 'Basically anyone who's ever had my phone number ever has texted or called' her and she admitted to having been 'very surprised' at how much attention the story has garnered over the last few weeks.

At one point during the interview, the Inside Edition reporter attempted to see if he could finagle the truth about the alleged affair out of Daniels.

His first attempt was met with a coquettish, closed-lip smile.

But, when he asked Daniels about whether she met Trump at Lake Tahoe – the site of a celebrity golf tournament where the two met in 2006, not long before the affair was supposedly inaugurated- her composure completely cracked.

Daniels nodded briefly in answer, mouth in a grimace, and then looked off camera.

By the time she's asked again about Lake Tahoe and the picture of herself and Trump meeting, Daniels has regained control over her features and merely gives another brief nod, this time paired with a blank stare.

'I think it's common [knowledge] from looking at photos that I met him,' she said.

Daniels maintained the lack of expression when asked about the fact that Trump allegedly chased her around his hotel room, while wearing nothing but his underpants, and whether she was barred from speaking about the situation now.

It isn't until she was asked about whether she's frustrated by the supposed non-disclosure agreement which is preventing her from revealing all now, that she finally cracked a small smile.

During the interview, Daniels admitted that she's shocked at how many things have been fabricated about her life since news of the alleged affair broke – such as who she's dated in the past – and noted that a 'big misconception' is that she's 'stupid,' 'greedy' or an 'opportunist.'

When asked if she could, would she want to make the entire situation go away in an instant, without hesitation she said, 'Yes.'
