Lachlan White crossed a massive line in Emmerdale tonight as he made an attempt to kill Rebecca in intense scenes as it was clear how far he was prepared to go in order to hide his secrets. Lachlan was thrown into a panic when Gerry listened to the voicemail left on his phone but Belle Dingle stepped in and stopped him before anything incriminating was heard, believing it wasn’t right to upset Lachlan by reliving the moment half of his family died.
Lachlan later managed to delete the video but when Robert Sugden confirmed his pledge not to give up on Rebecca, with him even being prepared to pay for some expensive treatment from brain injury specialists, the disturbed teenager knew he had to take action.
As he ranted at a comatose Rebecca that he was not prepared to lose Belle when they have their whole lives ahead of them together, he apologised to his aunt and grasped her breathing tubes, setting her heart rate monitors into a frenzy as she headed for death.
But Lachlan found that he couldn’t go through with it and eventually withdrew his hand, becoming emotional and telling a confused Belle that he thought he’d be able to take control but didn’t manage it.
Belle was then distressed when Lachlan told her he needed space and they are over and, once alone, he punched a wall and broke into tears. As he heads for the edge, will his state of mind give away his secrets?
And with Rebecca having escaped a murder attempt, will she wake up and expose the truth?
