Eminem hits the studio with Dr Dre and Mike Will Made-It
Eminem has hit the studio with his old pal Dr Dre and producer Will Made-It.
In a blending of old and new sounds, Eminem has recruited the producer slash singer, rapper, songwriter for a new record by the looks of things, as the two plus Dre have been snapped together in the studio.
In a video uploaded to Instagram, Mike Will Made-It can be heard saying ‘real hip-hop here’ as Eminem jokes ‘fake hip-hop here.’
Mike Will Made-It is partly responsible for Kendrick Lamar’s Humble and Beyonce‘s Formation, so something great is about to come out of this little project.
He’s also behind We Can’t Stop by Miley Cyrus, No Lie by 2 Chainz, Bring It Back by Trouble ft Drake.
Last week Eminem managed to topple Ed Sheeran and his unmovable track Perfect from the top of the UK charts with River, although to be fair that features Ed too, so the 27-year-old is still winning.
River is Eminem’s ninth UK number one, and Ed recently revealed was written at Russell Crowe’s house.
He told Billboard: ‘I sound like such a c*** name-dropping, but I was traveling Australia and Russell Crowe has a house, this big farm.
‘I get an email from Paul Rosenberg, Eminem’s manager, and he said, ‘We’re gonna start putting the album together, send any ideas.’
‘So I used the studio at Russell’s house… played the drums on it, and then played the guitar, and then recorded the thing and wrote the chorus and did the piano on it, and then sent it off and then didn’t hear anything back. This was like March 2016,’ he revealed.
