EastEnders has revealed the first look at dramatic scenes which see Martin and Stacey Fowler’s marriage fall apart properly and potentially for good – as he throws her aggressively out of the house.

The big showdown comes after Stacey arrives back with the kids after a break away – and while she tries to act as if everything is normal, her cheating with Max Branning is the big elephant in the room. As Stacey tries to avoid the inevitable showdown, she heads out for a walk.

Martin seethes as he assumes that she has gone to see Max but in actual fact, she has got talking to Ted Murray who advises her to fight for her marriage. She arrives home right into a showdown with an angry Martin and when things get personal, Stacey slaps him across the face.

The argument only gets worse from there and as harsh home truths are exchanged, Martin furiously grabs Stacey and chucks her out of the house in full view of Albert Square. Vowing that his wife won’t get the house or the kids, Martin draws the battle lines.

Friends of the couple such as Sonia and Kush will do their best to diffuse the situation over the week but as things remain tense, it looks like this really is the end of the line for the couple.

But who will emerge the victor in their big battle? The ones who definitely can’t win if it goes on like this are the kids – and as a dangerous situation threatens to unfold, will Stacey and Martin get the wake up call they need to call their feud off?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday 22nd January at 8pm on BBC One.
