Bryan Cranston is refusing to pay any attention to the rumours suggesting he will be nominated for an Oscar on Tuesday for his role in Last Flying Flag.

The 61-year-old, who is celebrating the 10th year anniversary of his hit series Breaking Bad today, brushed off the positive feedback of his performance as ‘opinion’ ahead of the Oscar nomination announcements.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, the star, who portrays war veteran Sal Nealon in the comedy-drama directed by Richard Linklater, humbly admitted that he doesn’t have any feelings towards the prospect of a nomination.

‘I actually don’t have any feeling towards it to be honest with you. I never do,’ he said

The father-of-one, who lost out on the Best Actor award to Leonardo DiCaprio in 2016, would rather focus on doing the best he can.

‘My job is to try to be as honest as I possibly can, create a compelling character that serves the story and present it,’ he told us.

He added: ‘And what I love about what I do is that it offers so much respect for the audience because as you watch the film, or as your friends watch the film, or whomever, you’ll have different opinions and all of you are right.’

Speaking of the film which also stars Steve Carrell and Laurence Fishburne, the Golden Globes winner reveals he does not expect everyone to like the film which is based during the recent Iraq War.

‘It doesn’t matter if you loved it or hated it,’ he said. ‘Neither one is wrong because it is how it felt to you.’

‘[It’s about] how it resonated or failed to resonate with you and that is what is so great about art in itself is that it is very encompassing of everyone’s opinion and it is an opinion.’

‘I am very proud of this film and if it resonates with people that makes me even happier.’
