Manchester City are looking to bounce back from their first Premier League defeat of the season this weekend when they host Newcastle United at the Etihad.

City still have a 12 point lead at the top of the table so they are hardly panicking, but their egos may have been bruised after defeat to Liverpool last Sunday.

Newcastle could be on the wrong end of a bit of a backlash from the Cityzens but Rafael Benitez will be desperate to avoid that as his side sit just three points above the relegation zone.

The Magpies have won two of their last five in the Premier League so they are not too out of form, but they have struggled for consistency all season.

Team news

City will be without Fabian Delph and Benjamin Mendy, meaning they are a bit short at left-back, but Danilo will likely come in and cover.

Guardiola is also missing Gabriel Jesus who is still recovering from knee ligament damage.

Newcastle are sweating on the fitness of Dwight Gayle, Chancel Mbemba and Alexander Mitrovic who all face late tests, whilst Florian Lejeune and Jesus Gamez are definitely out.
