House speaker Paul Ryan says Donald Trump‘s vulgar slur about African countries was `very unfortunate, unhelpful’.

The president has denied claims he called Haiti and other African nations ‘shithole’ countries during a congress meeting.

The President took to Twitter to refute the claims, saying: ‘The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used.

‘What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made – a big setback for DACA!’

He made the denial in a series of tweets on planned immigration reforms – but admitted he didn’t want immigrants from ‘high crime countries which are doing badly.

Trump allegedly said: ‘Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?’ during a meeting yesterday.

The president also wants to roll back DACA – Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals – which affords protection to children who entered the U.S. illegally or with parents who overstayed visas.

His plans were blocked by a federal judge Tuesday, with a challenge to that block expected soon.

His remarks have met with widespread global condemnation, with the UN also blasting what Trump now denies saying.

The so-called bipartisan DACA deal presented yesterday to myself and a group of Republican Senators and Congressmen was a big step backwards. Wall was not properly funded, Chain & Lottery were made worse and USA would be forced to take large numbers of people from high crime…..

….Because of the Democrats not being interested in life and safety, DACA has now taken a big step backwards. The Dems will threaten “shutdown,” but what they are really doing is shutting down our military, at a time we need it most. Get smart, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

It’s not the first time Ryan has called out Trump for his communication skills.

Late last year, he urged the public to ignore Trump’s Twitter feed.

He was talking about the administration’s new tax plans when he appeared to become frustrated with questions about the president’s latest Twitter spat with senator Bob Corker.

Ryan said: ‘We have an historic chance of actually fixing this tax code, giving people pay raises and getting the American economy growing at a rate where we can actually get bigger paychecks — more take home pay, a healthier economy — that’s what matters.

‘So all this stuff you see on a daily basis on Twitter this and Twitter that — forget about it. Let’s focus on helping improve people’s lives.’
