Arsenal want Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Alexis Sanchez’s replacement
Arsenal are targeting a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports in Italy.
The Gunners are bracing themselves for a fresh approach from Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez, and have reportedly set the Chilean’s asking price at £25 million.
Aubameyang has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal, and according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsene Wenger has reignited his interest and is considering the Dortmund forward as a replacement for Sanchez.
Earlier this season, reports claimed that Dortmund were open to offers of €60 million (£53m) for the Gabon international.
But last month, Aubameyang claimed he had signed a new contract which keeps him tied to the Bundesliga club until 2021.

The 28-year-old has endured a turbulent relationship with Dortmund’s hierarchy and was even suspended for ‘disciplinary reasons’ this season.
Aubameyang, who has scored 21 goals in 24 appearances for Dortmund this season, has also been criticised for his tardiness by Dortmund chiefs.
‘We have only one problem with him – that is punctuality. We have to be very clear about that,’ said the club’s sporting director Michael Zorc.
