Kevin De Bruyne scolded Leroy Sane during Manchester City’s disappointing first-half performance against Crystal Palace after the Germany international failed to latch on to a through ball.

The Belgian international had struggled to find his range in the opening period, and he and Sane had occasionally appeared to be treading on one another’s toes as they struggles to gain any momentum against Roy Hodgson‘s side.

Tensions finally reached boiling point when Sane stopped to check his run so he wasn’t offside and De Bruyne released the ball, which rolled harmlessly out for a goal kick.

De Bruyne screamed at the 21-year-old, who appeared incredibly frustrated at his team-mate’s reaction and earned himself a booking for kicking the ball away some minutes later.

The loss of Gabriel Jesus after 20 minutes made for uncomfortable viewing for City fans and Pep Guardiola and the clash between De Bruyne and Sane will have done little to ease the ill-feeling among the travelling side at Selhurst Park.

Though it may be fanciful to portray the little spat as a sign of the wheels falling off for the Premier League table toppers, there was at least a little trouble in paradise for the title challengers to cling on to…
