Meghan Markle was reportedly in the running for the upcoming 25th James Bond film – until a life of royalty forced Bond producers to take her name off their list.

Yes, Meghan may be about to fulfil many young girl’s dreams of marrying a Prince but it seems it also came at the expense of another dream for many, that of being an iconic Bond girl.

‘The brief was to find a glamorous rising star, specifically someone American or Canadian,’ a source close to the production has claimed.

‘Producers had narrowed down her and four other actresses on a shortlist last year with Bond 25 in mind. But the minute her relationship to Harry came to light they assumed she was out of the running so it soon became a list of four.’

Meghan’s relationship with Prince Harry became public in November 2016 and on 27 November 2017 they confirmed their engagement; Meghan then revealed that she had ended her blossoming acting career in order to to put all her focus on to her charitable work alongside her husband-to-be.

‘Meghan fits the role of a Bond girl perfectly. She’s glamorous and sexy and a good actress,’ the source told The Sun.

‘The role more recently has gone to actresses deemed to be rising stars, and Meghan certainly was seen as that before her relationship with Harry became public.’

Meghan has already served as a UN Ambassador and previously studied international relations, and she insisted that rather than dwelling on the end of her acting career, she is committed to making a change in the world with her humanitarian work.

‘I see it is a new change, a new chapter. ‘I’ve been working on my show seven years, we were so fortunate to have that longevity, and I feel like I checked that box and am very proud of the work I’ve done there,’ she told the BBC.
