The short-lived X Factor musical I Can’t Sing parodied the popular singing competition.

And Harry Hill has now revealed he had a falling out with show boss Simon Cowell after he made the entertainment mogul 'look a bit of an idiot' in the musical.

The 53-year-old comedian has admitted he’s been given the cold shoulder by Simon ever since making the stage show in 2014.

Harry claims Simon, 58, sent him an email after seeing the show which asked him to make adjustments to his character, and when he decided to 'ignore' the messages, Simon ceased all contact with the funny man.

Speaking to The Mirror newspaper, Harry said: 'He sent me an email after he came to one of the previews and the email said some very good points about lighting and sound because he is a good producer.

'But he added however, "I feel my character, the character of Simon Cowell, is made to look a bit of an idiot". And I thought "uh-oh".

'I just ignored them. I thought that was the best bet. It is fine – I haven’t heard from him since.'

Luckily for Simon – who was portrayed by former EastEnders star Nigel Harman in the production – the musical wasn’t a huge success, and Harry blames himself for the flop.

He claims he had 'a few drinks' while watching The X Factor final and before he knew it he was pitching the idea to Cowell – and regretting his decision.

Meanwhile, Simon has been left heartbroken by the news that his 'Nanny Heather' – who looked after him from birth – is now suffering from dementia, two years after his beloved mother Julie passed away.

Father-of-one Simon is said to be 'really concerned' about the 78-year-old who is 'not a well woman,' her own carer said.

Heather cared for Simon and his two brothers Tony and Nicholas for around five years from the age of 2.

Simon, who now has his own three-year-old son Eric, briefly spoke about his nanny with Jimmy Kimmel in 2013, saying he expected the nanny he hired for his son Eric to change the nappies.

'I was brought up by nannies,' Simon confessed. 'I didn't recognise my mum until I was about three or four. I had nannies instead, British nannies.'

He went on to say, 'One of them I'm still in contact with now. Nanny Heather.'
