Mark Hamill has delivered a touching – and unique – tribute to Carrie Fisher on the one year anniversary of her death.

Star Wars legend Carrie died aged 60 on 27 December 2016, four days after she stopped breathing on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

Her death was caused by a number of factors including sleep apnea and drugs, including cocaine and other opiates, in her system.

A year on from her tragic death, her Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill has paid tribute by sharing a number of pictures of them together – as well as a truly badass stained glass portrait of Carrie.

Mark, who plays Carrie’s on screen brother Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga, tweeted: ‘No one’s ever really gone… #AlwaysWithUs #CarrieOnForever.’

With the tweet, the 66-year-old attached an old photo of them hugging, as well as a still from The Last Jedi showing Luke and General Leia Organa embracing.

But the best attachment was a stained glass portrait of Carrie, by artist Lindsay van Ekelenburg, which showed the actress wearing robes and a crown, carrying her beloved therapy dog Gary, and flipping the bird.

Exactly how we want to remember her, really.

The Last Jedi marks Carrie’s last movie appearance, with the blockbuster dedicated to ‘our princess Carrie Fisher’.

The film also features her daughter Billie Lourd playing Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix.

Carrie played Princess Leia in 1977’s Star Wars, going on to play the heroine in The Empire Strikes Back, The Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens, while a CGI version of her appears in spin-off Rogue One.

The day after Carrie’s passing last December, her mother Debbie Reynolds died after suffering a stroke.

A joint memorial was held for both actresses in January of this year, with a portion of Carrie’s ashes laid to rest next to her mum. The rest of her ashes are contained in a giant Prozac pill.
