Carrie Fisher’s dog Gary attended a screening for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and fans are getting emotional because it is clear he misses his mum.

The actress’ dog Gary was captured on video when he had the most adorable reaction to seeing the General/Princess Leia actress on screen.

Journalist Veronica Miracle tweeted a video on Thursday night revealing the moment and leaving fans ‘literally crying.’

She wrote: ‘The late Carrie Fisher’s dog Gary just watched “The Last Jedi”! He sat on Fisher’s former assistant’s lap during the film. She said his ears perked up every time she was on screen.’

We aren’t crying, you are.

The star is missed by many following her passing at the age of 60 in December 2016. She made her final outing as General Leia Organa in the eighth instalment of the sci-fi franchise in scenes filmed prior to her death.

Carrie’s French bulldog meant so much to her that The Last Jedi’s director Rian Johnson even gave him a cameo as a space creature in the movie.

Carrie first adopted Gary as a therapy dog, but it wasn’t long until the duo became besties with the actress bringing him to film premieres and interviews – so if you are crying reading this, we can’t blame you.

And you don’t even have to be a dog person to get a little teary about it, some users even confessed that they were ‘literally crying.’

One Twitter user shared a dramatic meme of Kim Kardashian lying in bed with a full face a makeup with the words: ‘Me today thinking about how Carrie Fisher’s dog’s ears perked up every time he heard his Mom on screen.’

Another used capital letters to express themselves writing: ‘GUYS I JUST FOUND OUT THAT CARRIE FISHER’S DOG GARY WATCHED STAR WARS AND GOT ALL EXCITED WHENEVER LEIA WAS ONSCREEN AND IF YOU NEED ME I’LL BE UNDER THESE BLANKETS.’

‘I need to go kill some zombies because I’m literally crying about Carrie Fisher’s dog and it’s ridiculous,’ tweeted another.

I just heard on the radio that Gary, Carrie Fisher’s therapy dog, watched the new movie and when he saw his mommy he perked up. He knew who she was ??

just found out Carrie Fisher’s dog went to the Star Wars premiere and that seems VERY cruel, like if you were that dog and your missing mom showed up on screen wouldn’t you think, “oh, so I’ve simply been abandoned.”
