Former President, civilian, and now… Santa?

Barack Obama took on a new title on Thursday, as he stopped by the Boys & Girls Club in Washington, DC to spread Christmas cheer.

"44" donned a leather jack and Santa hat to play "Kris Kringle" as he visited with approximately 50 middle school students at the Jelleff Club on Benning Road in Northeast Washington, the Washington Post reported.

The man who has often said "civilian" is the most important title in a society grinned from ear to ear in an image he shared on social media from his visit.

"There's no better time than the holiday season to reach out and give back to our communities," Obama wrote with the tweeted photo.

"Great to hear from young people at the Boys & Girls Club in DC today."

The children were there to partake in after-school activities at their local branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.

Obama shook hands with the adults as he went about passing out the gifts he brought for the youngsters.

He carried a big, bright green bag adorned with a packages design and large, purple ribbon.

He stayed and chatted with the middle school children for about half an hour.

Since leaving the White House in January, he and former first lady Michelle Obama have made four other unannounced visits to DC schools and community centers.

The Obamas have decided to remain living in Washington, DC while their youngest daughter, Sasha, finishes high school.
