There’s great news for fans of Emmerdale character Moira Dingle – she is sticking around on the show for the forseeable future despite the reveal that she killed Emma Barton. Normally, there can be a death sentence on a character who has taken the life of another but Natalie J Robb confirmed to Metro.co.uk that she isn’t going anywhere.
When we caught up with her to talk about the big episode which saw Moira send Emma to her death after being deliberately provoked, Natalie put out fears to rest that this would lead to the end of Moira.
She explained: ‘They told me that wasn’t the case that this would mean Moira would have to go – if it happened it is in the lap of the gods and there is nothing I can do. I have just signed another year, so you have another year of me yet! Robert Sugden has killed, but he is still here!
‘I was quite grateful to be involved with it to be honest, when they described it to me it hadn’t been written at that point, but all the twists and turns and curveballs were great – it was nice to be part of that.’
That leaves plenty of time for a potential Cain and Moira reunion down the line. With Cain being privy to Moira’s killer secret, it’s clear that he will protect her at any cost.
What lies ahead for Moira remains to be seen but Natalie is hoping for a more settled end to 2018 in real life as she winds down for Christmas after intense blocks of filming.
She shared: ‘I am going to chill out over Christmas and do some yoga and just relax really and not dart around everywhere, I just want to chill. I am going to Leicester for my friends for New Year. Then it’s back to work first thing on 2nd January!’
