Max Branning isn’t a man who has a lot of friends in Walford but, over the years, the one person who has constantly stood by him through thick and thin is Stacey Fowler. Even as the entire community now detests Max for what he has done, Stacey sees the good in him deep down and knows that the EastEnders villain can be redeemed.
In the wake of a destructive few weeks for Max which culminated in him contemplating murdering Ian Beale in revenge, his life is in pieces and only Stacey will give him the time of day.
She allows him to stay at the Fowlers’ while he gets himself sorted and tries to rebuild his relationships with Lauren and Abi but Martin, as you can imagine, it less than happy with having him around.
Not only has Max caused relentless heartache for his friends and neighbours but he and Stacey also have history so is Martin right to be worried? Could the tension of the situation and Max’s reliance on Stacey lead to old and confused feelings coming to the fore?
