Reports of Eric Bailly’s extended absence from the Manchester United team will come as a major blow to all those associated with the club, with the Ivory Coast international set to be out for eight weeks.
The timing of his set back from a groin injury could hardly have been worse as United head into the busiest period of the season.
It’s reported that he will be out of action until the start of February, in which time he is set to miss at least 11 matches.
That figure may even rise to 14 should United win their FA Cup third-round clash with Derby County and take out Bristol in the EFL Cup, with the next rounds of those competitions also set to be played.
During the eight-week period, Bailly is set to miss Premier League ties with West Brom, Leicester, Burnley (twice), Southampton, Everton, Stoke and Tottenham Hotspur, with fixtures coming thick and fast.
