Cape Town – Orlando Pirates have announced the deadline-day signing of Brazilian defender Caio Marcelo after impressing staff during preseason training.
"Caio who was spotted in Pirates' recent Project X trip in Brazil and will join his new team-mates this week after impressing technical staff during the preseason break," the club said.
Meanwhile head coach Milutin Sredojevic has insisted that his side is finding form despite admitting that they are three points short of where they wanted to be.
The Buccaneers have had a difficult start to the season, nevertheless 'Micho' sees cause for optimism.
"We are playing football. The number of shots on goal is the attacking part and there is the number of shots allowed towards our goal on target. We are also satisfied with the meaningful build-ups.
"Attacking-wise and defensive-wise we are doing very well and confidence is growing."
