Madonna did not want to hear her own voice at her birthday.

In an odd move for the diva, who paid tribute to herself on her big day, Madonna banned her own music from her lavish 60th celebrations in Morocco. No Vogue, no Papa Dont Preach. Not even a touch of Like A Prayer.

Madge didnt even take the mic herself.

Instead, she requested only traditional Berber music be played at the bash in Marrakech, which cost £10,000 and was held at a property owned by Richard Bransons sister Vanessa, and she had guests dress in traditional garb.

An insider told The Sun: She had Moroccan music and the guests dressed the Bedouin way.

We expected she may have sang, but no one played her music. She told them not to and to not ask for it.

Her 60th reportedly consisted of a huge Moroccan feast, but the Queen of pop didnt over-induldge on the champers.

The source added: Madonna is very polite and very modest. She drinks but she never got drunk.

Staff reportedly had their phones taken off them so that Madonna could party in peace without the threat of an unflattering snap ending up on Instagram.

Madonnas career has taken her through 10 tours, shes sold 300 million albums and is the best-selling female artist of all time, having originally moved to New York in 1977 in the hope of making it as a model. Holiday was Madonnas first hit in the US, reaching no 16 in the charts in 1984. In 1985 she had a sell-out Virgin Tour.

She released her third studio album in 1986 which went on to produce five hit singles, including Papa Dont Preach, a song about teenage pregnancy which proved groundbreaking at the time. Madonna released Like A Prayer in 1989 with another dose of controversy as the vidoe depicted the burning of crosses.
