American rapper XXXTentacion was just 20 years old when he was killed earlier this month.
Yet the likes of Kanye West were paying tribute to him in the aftermath.
XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was awaiting trial for domestic abuse when he was shot.
The rapper had been no stranger to the police in recent years, his first sentence being in a juvenile-detention center on a gun possession charge. Then two years after that he was charged for home invasion, robbery, and aggravated battery, according to court documents.
Now the police have arrested someone in connection with his murder on Monday 18 June. Heres what we know.
XXXTentacion was a Florida native and his real name was Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy.
He was shot while sitting in his BMW in broad daylight outside of a motorcycle shop in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
Dedrick Devonshay Williams, 22, has been arrested on suspicion of murder (on 20 June) in South Florida, with police suspecting that the allegation related to a botched robbery.
He has previous arrests for cocaine possession, weapons possession, domestic violence, aggravated assault with a firearm and grand theft auto, reports MailOnline.
He is also facing a fresh parole violation stemming from a 2014 case, which will be discussed in court on Monday.
According to TMZ, police reckon two more people were involved in XXXs murder and the Broward County Sheriffs Department say it was a botched armed robbery.
They claim two men made off with a Luis Vuitton bag.
A judge has already signed two other arrest warrants but those two suspects have not been taken into custody yet.
Two days after the shooting, Williams wrote on his apparent Facebook page: Dont piss me off u will never know wats next.
Social media suggests Williams is a father-of-two who operates under the working name Tattooman Chucky, which connects to the picture of horror movie icon Chucky on his arm.
