The newest trailer for Steven Spielberg’s biggest science fiction movie Ready Player One has landed.
Based on the debut novel of the same name by Ernie Cline, Ready Player One is set in a dystopian world where almost everyone spends their life in a virtual reality systems known as OASIS.
In the OASIS, players can visit any world imaginable.

The trailer opens with Wade Watts, played by Tye Sheridan (X-Men: Apocalypse) talking about the OASIS, a world in which anyone can do anything and be anyone, and as such people choose to stay in this world for extensive periods of time.
Next we see Mark Rylance (Dunkirk, The BFG) as OASIS founder James Halliday, who left behind a huge pop culture Easter egg hunt in the alternate world before he passed away. Whoever finds the three hidden keys will gain control of the entire system.
Wade then teams up with another competitor Art3mis, played by Olivia Cooke (Me, Earl and The Dying Girl, Bates Motel), to find all the keys before a corporation, run by Ben Mendelsohn’s (Rogue One) evil character Nolan Sorrento, is able to take over.
The film, which also features TJ Miller (Sillicon Valley) and Simon Pegg (Mission Impossible 6), is choc-a-bloc with pop culture references, including a race scene featuring Doc Brown’s DeLorean, Speed Racer’s Mach 5, and an the Iron Giant face-off against Chucky The Killer Doll.
The trailer was also accompanied by a new poster for the film, which begs the question: what is up with Wade’s super long right leg?!
Ready Player One is released in UK Cinemas 30 March, 2018.
